Pohutukawa ANZAC Remembrance Trust
Honouring ANZAC heritage by developing and maintaining a memorial and gardens in Beachlands/Maraetai. A sacred space for reflection, education, and remembrance.
Preserving the spirit of the ANZAC
The Pohutukawa ANZAC Remembrance Trust is committed to honouring ANZAC heritage by developing and maintaining a memorial and gardens in the Beachlands/Maraetai area. Our mission is to educate and engage the public through meaningful ceremonies and provide a tranquil space for reflection.
Named after the iconic New Zealand pohutukawa tree, whose crimson blossoms symbolise the courage and sacrifice of those who served, our memorial gardens stand as a living tribute to the ANZAC spirit.
"At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them."
Creating a dignified memorial space that honours the sacrifice and service of ANZAC veterans and their families.
Engaging the public through ceremonies, educational programs, and interpretive experiences that bring history to life.
Maintaining beautiful gardens and facilities that provide a peaceful sanctuary for contemplation and remembrance.
Where memory blooms eternal
We are actively developing and building an ANZAC memorial within the Beachlands/Maraetai area, creating a landmark destination that serves as a focal point for community remembrance and reflection.
The memorial features carefully designed gardens, commemorative structures, and interpretive elements that tell the story of ANZAC service and sacrifice.
We conduct meaningful ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day ceremonies, bringing the community together to honour those who served. These events provide opportunities for reflection, education, and connection.
Our ceremonies are inclusive, respectful, and designed to engage people of all ages in the tradition of remembrance.
We provide educational programs and resources that help younger generations understand and appreciate ANZAC heritage. Through school visits, interpretive displays, and community engagement, we keep history alive.
Our educational initiatives foster a deep sense of connection to New Zealand's military history and the values it represents.
Our dedicated team maintains the memorial gardens to the highest standard, ensuring they remain a beautiful and tranquil space for visitors year-round.
The gardens feature native New Zealand plants, including the iconic pohutukawa, creating a living landscape that connects remembrance with the natural beauty of Aotearoa.
